Get Involved — Volunteer!

When adults volunteer, all students benefit! There are many opportunities for parents and community members to get involved. In all of our programs and events, volunteers do most of the heavy lifting—from the planning process to the set-up on the day of events, and all the way to teardown.

Your help is not only greatly appreciated, but also incredibly necessary.

Our greatest needs are often finding parent volunteers to chair event and program committees. Taking on those positions would take a huge load off of PTA Board members who usually have to chair multiple events/programs when they go unfilled. When we're so stretched thin, that often means that events aren't run the most efficiently or smoothly. The more workload you take off of us, the better events will be. Please see the following table for open positions:

When you choose to become chair, you'll have as much control over the event/program as you desire. The PTA Board will happily guide you through the process, offering meetings and checklists, and liaising between the school and the community for equipment, volunteers, marketing, etc. Usually for events, planning will begin 2-3 weeks out, and will require a time commitment of about 1 hour per week prior to the event. On event day, it's preferred that you block 1 hour before and after the event for setup and clean-up. Any expenses that you take on for events/programs will be fully reimbursed.

We're often short on volunteers, so if you have an hour or two to spare, we'd love to have you help out where you feel most comfortable. No skills or qualifications needed. We'll tailor to your strengths, and will be with you every step of the way.
